My overall experience

I started of character performan with the ballarina, it wasn’t that great but it was a easing in process into character performance. The inter shabang for this was to help with forming strong poses.

The next was creating footages of me and othere performing the actions we wanted to animate and useing using performances from dick van dike and e.c.t. This part was by far the most challenging that’s because I needed to record my self acting like an imbecile for people to watch. Another thing that I found kind of difficult was trying to perfectly mimic the footage.

I also dabbled on lighting a stage but for something simple like this I wasn’t that great at it, one thing I couldn’t add to it was shadows from the light being blocked.

We also did a mouth lesson which helped me with the final render animations talking and facial animation.

For my showreel I used all the character animation I had, I even tried to complete one but couldn’t because of time so I polish it of. There were some files I couldn’t add that’s because the file its self was corrupted.

One major problem I had was were some of the files not being able to save due to some problem or another, one of the problem I had was dealing with file not wanting to save, That is why they don’t have any files

Final performance render

Final render I had help with the rendering and lighting. Before all of this I had to create the background, you can’t see this but the background is of a basketball court. For this final render I had to fix some issues, like the old wrench mans coming out of push of pushing the wrench, Plus animating the facial expression and mouth movement.

Performance review

So the movement is really smooth and the actions are really good but when the spanner falls down the delay of the bounce is a bit too long so I’d say just have the spanner fall down a bit quicker and that should be all good and the also after the guy pushes it over he frizzes in place and doesn’t move so maybe have him start to stand up start again after he pushes it also there is an arm twitch on the second character I spotted I don’t think I would  have spotted it if I hadn’t have been looking for it but it might be something to fix if you have the time

Blog Review

What you are missing-

Seems like you’ve got pretty much everything, you have all the body mechanics stuff, Posing story boards and video reference. I would say to maybe go over your old stuff and see if you can further improve upon things like your stylised walk and jump once you are finished with your current stuff. Because I feel that you can improve upon it with what you’ve learnt so far. And maybe do some more of the posing stuff too maybe with a different rig.

Oh I think you are missing the posing exercise in which you start with the hands and base it off a scene from a movie. (the thing dan set us a while ago in the Games room).

To talk about your recent blocking 2 animation I feel as if the wrench should start falling really slow after the push then speed up massively. Because its this huge metal object. Kind of like knocking over a tower or a pillar. It would be hard to push it with a large amount of force from the bottom. It should be like a nudge/push then the wrench would wobble a bit then come crashing down.

With the blocking pose of your last animation you need to rotate the hips to show how the weight of the character is being forced onto the side of the wrench.

You could spend a little more time on the post analysing good and bad rigs, focus on the different uses of good and bad rigs, and also the broken ones such as mery.
